About

Foximus Motorsports was founded in 2010 by Chris Hofmann, originally operating out of the 3 bay garage in the house Chris rented while he was going to college.

Back then it wasn’t so much about racing, as it was learning the Cobalt / GM Delta platform.  Chris and his buddies wanted to know how to do everything, so naturally they began taking their cars apart and reassembling them.  This lead to the shop putting out numerous How-To posts on the Cobalt forums for how to do everything from changing a battery, installing lowering springs, to a crazy weekend livestream when they replaced the motor in Phoenix.  Word got out, and soon guys from All over PA, WV, OH, and more were coming out on the weekends to have Foximus Motorsports work on their cars.  The boys did it all just to say they did it, and to help them build their own cars up.  besides the Ecotec platform cars,  a VW Vanagon camper conversion was done, some GM 3800 Series work, a local vintage stock car for SCCA competition was set up,  and they detailed cars.

After college in 2011, Chris and the shop moved to Myrtle Beach South Carolina for work.  Here is where the racing and performance oriented side came out.  Hooking up with the SCCA and a good local group of racers, Phoenix got a host of upgrades, and Foximus Motorsports went from being a shop to a race team. From 2011 thru the Fall of 2013 Autocross was the Team’s focus, running the North Carolina Region (NCR) and South Carolina Region (SCR) Street Modified FWD (SMF) classes, managing to bring in 2 class wins, points finishes of 3rd in both series,  and solid performances at the North Carolina Autocross Championships in 2011 and 2012.

The end of 2013 brought new changes, as a job offer in SoCal lead to Chris packing up shop and rolling West.  Arriving in SoCal in October 2013, and realizing that while there was a large autocross scene, there was no SMF cars to play with, the decision was made to look at track days instead.  That lead to finding Redline Time Attack and Global Time Attack, and now here we are, operating a Global Time Attack team out of our shop in Rosamond, CA.
